Pearls Before Swine

I'm racked by secret sin,
Known only by me and Him.
Like an apple, my outside may shine.,
But inside - its not benign.
My white hand touches where it will,
Making love in the deepest of swill,
While my neck stretches out for a breath,
But it finds nothing but stench.

I collapse in my putrid muck,
Towering mountains while down here I'm stuck.
My spirit clings to this dirt,
And slams me till all i feel is hurt.


I slump in my squalid state,
But He tells me that's not my fate.
He constantly offers me peace,
He commands the waves to cease.
Two Nights in ages past.
Sin tried to hold Him fast.
He comes and holds my hand,
And takes me from this land.

2012 Resolutions

Resolved

Ye have been bought with a price, be ye not servants of men.

Put on the new man.

Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Resolved, to become more familiar with the Word of God.

1.       Read through the Bible in one year.

-          Start in Revelation

2.       Memorize 52 verses this year.

-          Be able to recite them all at the end of the year.

Resolved, to develop a sense of purpose for the future.

1.       Develop a motto by which to live.

Resolved, to make wiser decisions about life.

Resolved, to know Christ more.

1.       Pray regularly

2.       Choose one great spiritual leader as a “counselor”

3.       Read Fox’s book of martyrs.

Resolved, to prepare for the future.

1.       List current responsibilities and earnestly fulfill them. Repeat monthly.

2.       Cook at least 2 meals per month while at home.

3.       Work on recipe book.
